Beirut upcoming New Album, A Study of Losses, is set for release on April 18, 2025. The project was originally commissioned as the soundtrack for a Swedish contemporary circus production.
A Study of Losses is an 18-track New Album by Beirut created for the Swedish contemporary circus Kompani Giraff, serving as the musical backdrop to their acrobatic stage production of the same name.
Inspired by Verzeichnis einiger Verluste (An Inventory of Losses), a novel by German author Judith Schalansky, the album unfolds across eleven songs and seven extended instrumental pieces, weaving a reflective and atmospheric journey through themes of memory, disappearance, and the passage of time.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the new single, Zach Condon shared:
“Guericke’s unicorn is a supposed reconstruction of a fossilized unicorn—though it was actually pieced together from the bones of various animals, including a woolly mammoth and a narwhal. It’s definitely worth looking up the image.”
